How to look good in your corporate headshot.
Don’t feel that you have to smile unless it is natural – some people have a natural smile, other people don’t. It’s all about looking comfortable ‘in your skin’.
Wear clothes that you feel comfortable in – you may have an expensive suit, but if it is two sizes too small it won’t look good and more importantly you won’t feel confident about the way you look.
Choose an outfit that reflects your profession and personality. Solid colors, well-fitting clothes, and minimal jewelry work best. Get a good night's sleep, drink plenty of water, and avoid heavy meals beforehand.
Don’t have an audience – if you feel self conscious about having your picture taken, make sure there is no one else around.
Obviously the most important thing to do is employ a photographer who is competent in taking great portraits.
If you are lucky enough to work in a stunning location, let that be the backdrop.
Communicate with your photographer: Let them know your preferences and concerns. Trust their guidance and expertise.
Don't overthink it: Trust your photographer to capture the best shots. Trust your inner self and let your personality shine through.
