As with everything in life you get what you pay for.

Bad photography can make you and your staff look awful and worst of all show you and your company in a bad way. At the time of writing a good photographer will be charging you between £250 and £500 for a headshot session.

Things to bear in mind

1. Top headshot photographers with extensive experience and awards will naturally charge more than those just starting out, never use a photographer who has little experience.

2. Photographers in major cities like London will typically charge more than those in smaller towns or rural areas.

3. Session length and number of outfits: Short, basic sessions with one outfit will be cheaper than longer sessions with multiple outfits and wardrobe changes.

4. Get recommendations from friends, colleagues.

5. Check online reviews particularly on Linkedin.

6. Look at their portfolio: Make sure you like the photographer's style and that their work fits your personal brand.

7. Contact the photographer for a consultation: Most photographers offer a free consultation where you can discuss your needs.

Remember, the most important thing is to find a photographer who you feel comfortable with and whose work you admire. The cost shouldn't be the only factor in your decision.
